The Olympics.
The Olympics in China will not in the long term be remembered for the magnificent stadiums or the fantastic opening and closing ceremonys they will be remembered for the achievements of the competitors.
There achievemts are timeless and will live on through the ages until man as finally destroyed the planet we live on.
London needs to remember that the games are not there for spectators or as an advertisement for a nation that are there for the those there to take part. I believe any plan to cut down on the Olympic village to save money should be strongly opposed by the IOC as the village is an important part of the experience of the Olympics for the Competitors.
London can never match China as Britain does not have the resources they have but what must be the priority of the London games is not legacy or television or the spectators it must be the competitors. They are what the games are about and for nothing else.

Disabled.
Been talking to a few disabled people lately and in the conversations they all said that when they became disabled through illness, accidents etc most of there close friends deserted them. Came round to say hello when they got home from the hospital and then they were gone forever.
Why do people do this? Two reasons I think. Firstly people are not good at dealing with disability. They look at someone who is disabled and all they can see is the disability not the person.Secondly there is the old, there by the grace of god goes I, and I don`t think people like to be reminded that they could so easily end up disabled as well.
The solution to this is easy. Stop treating the disabled like they were aliens from out of space and make sure they are brought into main stream society. They need to be involved and accepted into all walks of our life. The fact that no ministers in our government are disabled is a disgrace, the fact that there are very few disabled people in the boardrooms of our major company`s is a disgrace. The fact that there are very few disabled people in the media is a disgrace.
Give the disabled a chance and then people will stop treating the disabled in the disgraceful way they do at prsent.

Society!
Margaret Thatcher once said that there was no such thing as society she was right. There is no such thing as society because she killed it.
Margaret Thatcher knew the price of everything but she didn`t understand the value of society.
Society is what binds as together. It makes us feel that we are a part of something and it makes us care about others. She destroyed it by creating a country where everyone is encouraged to believe in me not us or you.
Now we have a country of individuals.Where everyone cares about there own but no one else.Where people can be left dead in flats for months on end because neighbours didn`t even know who lived there. Where if you say good morning or hello you are looked upon as being an escapee from the local mental hospital.
Can society ever return. I doubt it. I think its dead and buried and will never return.
